Martha Reinmann – June 30, 1961 – April 8, 2024
Martha Karon Connor Reinmann, 62, of Luray passed away April 8, 2024 at her home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Shackelford Funeral Directors East Main Chapel with burial to follow in Unity Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at East Main Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Friday and from noon-2 p.m. service time on Saturday.
She was born in Jackson on June 30, 1961, daughter of the late Robert Thomas and Martha Sue Clifford Connor. She grew up in Jacks Creek and attended Jacks Creek Elementary and Chester County Junior and Senior High Schools.
She worked for Walmart in South Jackson for many years and had worked various jobs, including Personnel Manager and Manager of Online Grocery Dept. As Personnel Manager she especially liked helping people get their first jobs.
She was brought up to treat others the way you want to be treated and to always have compassion for those needing help.
She enjoyed studying the Bible and had been a participant in several Bible Study Groups both in Henderson and Jackson. She was a member of Middlefork Baptist Church. She actively shared her Cancer Journey as an opportunity to witness her faith to others.
She had been active in PTA and Project Graduation, was a Girl Scouts Leader and had worked in the High School Band Boosters. She really enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s ballgames and school activities.
She is survived by a son, Joshua Heath (Jamie) Mobley of Jackson; one daughter, Mandy Dawn (Mark) Cole of Luray; a stepson, James (Jalina) Reinmann of Hughesville, Pa.; four grandchildren, Lauren Ashley (Nick) Moody, Kaitlyn Michelle (Jonathan) Kesler, Braden Tyler Buckley and Weston Heath Mobley; three great-grandchildren, Serenity Lynn Kesler, Samuel Connor Moody and Miles Owen Kesler; and her dog Lillie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jeff Reinmann; a brother, Tommy Connor; and one granddaughter, Morgan Lee Mobley.
Ossie Mae Beshires – July 2, 1942 – April 5, 2024
Ossie Mae Ruth Beshires, 81, died Friday evening, April 5, 2024 at her home in Henderson.
Funeral services were Wednesday, April 10, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating.
Burial followed in the Henderson City Cemetery. The family received friends at Crook Avenue Chapel Tuesday, April 9.
She was born in Henderson July 2, 1942, daughter of the late Ossie Burl and Reba Mae Graves Ruth. She grew up in Henderson and attended Chester County High School. She was the City of Henderson Centennial Queen of 1960.
She married Windell “Buster” Beshires on Aug. 18, 1962. They were married for 56 years when Buster passed away in October 2018.
She was a florist and began working in the floral business with Mrs. Pearl Griffin at an early age. She and her mother bought that business in 1975. They moved to a new location in 1979, opening Four Way Flower Shop. She enjoyed making floral arrangements for families and getting to know all the people she served over the years. She was a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church.
The joy of her life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite past-time was arguing with her sons and great-grandson, Brycen. She was always right and would set them straight! She was loved by many and was blessed to have had excellent caregivers as her health began to deteriorate.
She is survived by sons, Windell A. (Mary) Beshires and Johnny W. (Tammi) Beshires, both of Henderson; grandchildren, Megan (Drew) Cook, Rebecca (Hunter) Faulkner, April (Nick) Phillips, Jacob (Brandie) Beshires and Bailee (Daniel) Yu; and 10 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Carter, Trace, Lane, Brycen, Lila, Waylon, Sadie, Luke and Lainey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Windell; and brothers Jimmy and Bobby Ruth.
Van Dyer – April 5, 2024
Van William Dyer, 79, of Henderson, passed away on April 5, 2024 at Jackson General Hospital surrounded by family with the Alan Jackson Precious Memories Tape playing softly. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Beech Bluff, with Jimmy Dyer officiating. The family will receive friends at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery from 10:30-11 a.m. on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
He was born in Luray at home. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam war. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid tennis player and loved UT sports.
He was in banking as a career and made many friends during this time. He was Baptist in faith. He and his wife taught kindergarten class together.
He fought a long battle with cancer, never complaining. He had a smile for everyone who he met and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He will be cherished and missed by his family. He loved his faithful fur babies, LaLa and Sadie.
He is survived by his wife, Gail of almost 60 years; a son, Matt (Melissa); one daughter, Chelsea (Jeremy) Kopp; and his grandchildren who he loved dearly, Chase Dyer, Mia Dyer, Allie Grace Kopp, Alivia Kopp and Clayton Kopp.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elma Crouse Dyer; his father, Brodie Leamon Dyer; and his grandparents, paternal and maternal.
GERALDINE WILLIAMS – Aug. 31, 1943 – April 1, 2024
Geraldine Cupples Williams, 80, of Finger passed away April 1, 2024, at her home. Graveside services were 11 a.m. Thursday, April 4, at Mason Wells Baptist Church Cemetery with Randy Pickens officiating. The family received friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday.
She was born Aug. 31, 1943, in Jackson, the daughter of the late Auther Cupples and Ruth E. G. Burkhead Cupples Hopper. She grew up in Jackson and attended Southside High School.
She married Carroll Douglas Williams on Jan. 27, 1962, and they lived in Mifflin. Mr. Williams preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 2021, after 59 years of marriage.
She worked at Salant & Salant in Henderson when her and Carroll met but later worked as a machinist at Porter Cable in Jackson from 1978 until 2006, when she retired.
She was a member of the Mason Wells Baptist Church.
She is survived by four sons, Doug (Chrystal) Williams of Henderson, Mark (Jeanette) Williams of Henderson, Chris (Kim) Williams of Adamsville and Barry (Jennifer) Williams of Beech Bluff; two daughters, Lana Nelson of Finger and Shannon (Dusty) Rymer of Cleveland; 24 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, James Earl (Patty) Cupples of Pinson and Guy Wayne (Barbara) Hopper of Beech Bluff.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Junior Cupples and Roger Hopper; and her stepfather, Robert S. Hopper.
