Chester County spotted McNairy Central a quick score in the first period, then ran of 32 straight points before finally defeating their rival 38-14 in high school football Friday at Eagle Stadium. The victory was Chester County's seventh straight in the series which began in 1969. It evened the season record for each team at 1-1, with CCHS facing an open date this week before charging full-blast into the region games for the remainder of the season.

Monday, Sept. 7, is designated as a Labor Day holiday in the United States. For most it will simply be a day off work to be with family or friends for back yard cookouts. A few organized events may occur that will probably be more suited for July 4. The sad truth is that we have forgotten what this day was originally meant to honor.
