A jury has found Seth McCarty of Henderson not-guilty of rape and attempted murder. The surprise verdict came at the conclusion of a three-day trial at the Chester County Criminal Justice Center Thursday evening. McCarty, however, was found guilty of aggravated criminal trespassing. Sentencing was scheduled for later this month.
Firefighters douse the final flames July 2 that destroyed this home the night before. According to the Chester County Fire Department, the family of Tim Kelley was awakened by their smoke detector and fled the house at 170 Harrison Lane. The call came in to the fire department at 11:55 p.m. July 1, and units from Deanburg Station responded, as well as Station One later the next morning when the fire rekindled. One firefighter was treated on the scene for heat exhaustion.
