Artists, Ilene Greene and George Kernan, are married and have shared a studio space on their property in Ridgway, CO for the last 18 years. Ilene will be exhibiting her acrylic mixed media paintings and George will be showing his oils on canvas and sculptural lighting pieces.

“The benefit of shared art studio space is the magical feeling of knowing that someone can understand where you are coming from and respects your vision. It is about being self-assured and having confidence in your own art. Sharing studio space does not hinder one’s personal vision, but enhances an atmosphere of creativity and regard.

We are each other's best sounding board. We bounce ideas off each other. We give constructive criticism when it is asked for. We also become each other's best motivating factor -- if one of us is in the studio it spurs the other to work.   We can spend hours working in the same room without speaking to each other except when we break for a snack. We work in different media, which gives us some latitude, but we critique each other's paintings, share ideas, give suggestions (seldom taken!), and give support when we falter”.
