Hello from Enville. I hope everyone had a great week. We got some needed rain to help the crops come up nicely and also the gardens to grow, and it stopped and gave way to sunshine.

The temperatures this week are in the 70’s and 80’s for the highs and in the 50’s and 60’s at night with low humidity. It just does not get any better than that.

We are truly blessed! Flag Day is Friday, June 14. It commentates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress. Flag day was celebrated in various communities for years after Woodrow Wilson’s proclamation on May 30, 1916, but it was not until Aug. 3, 1949 that President Truman signed an Act of Congress designating June 14 of each year as National Flag Day. Display your flag high and proudly on Friday!

Another important holiday is Sunday, June 16. It is Father’s Day, a day to honor fathers and celebrate fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. Father’s Day is not a public holiday. It falls on Sunday, and most businesses follow regular Sunday opening hours in the United States. Father’s Day is to celebrate the contribution your own father has made to your life. It is a day to visit, call or send a card to your father or a day to remember your father if he is no longer with you. Happy Father’s Day to all dads!

Happy birthday wishes go to Janice Maness and Angela Howell on June 15, Shane Johnston on June 16, Mary Lou Avent on June 17, Holly Robertson and Chase Ross on June 18 and David Milford on June 19.

Happy Anniversary to Richard and Melissa Maness on June 16 and Jack and Tera O’Neal on June 17.

We hope you all enjoy your special day!

Please pray for Agnes Smith, Jean Crowell, Flo Stublaski, Lisa Finley, Mary Lee Guyon, Niecie Pearson, Casey Pratt, Deb Finley, June Bridges, Tanya Pierce, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Linda Phillips, Jo Marie Holmes, Harold and Janice Maness, Roger Henson, Janice Roach, Tim Harris, Nathan Wright and, as always, each other.

We are glad our travelers, Harold and Frankie and Annie and Charlie, are back at the round table at C & J Diner. We missed you!

We were glad to see Jim and Donna Wade in town last week. They will be back soon.

A bunch of us enjoyed the Finley Reunion on Sunday. We sure had some good food and fellowship.
