Hello from Enville! I hope everyone had a great week. The temperatures are in the 80’s for the highs with lower humidity. Just what I, as well as a lot of other folks, ordered. Another month is nearing the end.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe Labor Day weekend. It is commonly known as the last holiday of the summer, so I hope everyone gets to spend it with friends and family. On Monday, Sept. 2, the U.S. Department of Labor celebrates and honors the greatest worker in the world - the American worker. This Labor Day is the 125th anniversary of Labor Day being celebrated as a national holiday.
The Enville Community Club and the Enville Fire Department would like to thank everyone who came out to be a part of our Enville Wild Goose Shindig. We had lots of food, fun and fellowship, and the weather cooperated as well. I thank God for sparing us the rain that they had been predicting all week. It was a great day and a huge success. I want to thank our Chester County Mayor, Barry Hutcherson, his wife Sherry and Mr. Snookum himself. Also, thanks to Beverly and Eddie Morton and Doris Etheridge and her granddaughter for coming out to support us. We appreciate you all very much! Thanks to all who donated items for our silent auction and gave donations to Hearts of Praise and April and Reece Collins for their beautiful music and to Bo Jack and his band. Last but not least, thanks to all the dedicated members of the club and fire department for your hard work. Once again, thanks from the bottom of our hearts to everyone!
Happy birthday wishes go to Joey Ashbrook on Aug. 31; Stan O’Neal, Gerald Russom and Brenda Essary on Sept. 2; and Steven Grisham on Sept. 4. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
