Well, I am back! It is good to get behind this computer and be able to do the Deanburg news again. I hope everyone has had a great summer so far. We sure have had a wet one!
I can not believe it is school time again. Do not miss the tax free weekend this Friday, Saturday and Sunday!
Continued prayers are appreciated for Kristen Carlton Jones, Tim Landers, Brianna Landers, Gary Hyatt, Carolyn Brasfield, Jim Ruth, Charles and Eloise Murley, Samantha Mosier, and Woodie Deming. Please remember to pray for our shut-ins and nursing home residents and visit them when you can. Please remember our military, our law enforcement and first responders. And do not forget the ones that have lost loved ones.
In my last news, I listed birthdays through June, so today, I have belated wishes for July: Ricky Enfinger on July 1, Esther Murley on July 3, Diane Fish July 5, Michael Hopper on July 8 and Hunter Ross, my grandson, on July 12. We celebrated his 25th birthday at Meo Mio in Bath Springs. Also, Phillip Murley on July 14; Madison Mays, Kathy Haynie, Isaiah Rudolph and Doris Hearn on July 17; Mark Landers and Claude Cain on July 18; and Rhonda Privitt on July 23. I hope you all have great birthday memories.
If you have someone to add to our birthday list, please contact me.
Happy birthday this week to Chad Harris on July 24, Lottie Long Lamport and Trent Harris on July 25, David Gilchrist on July 27 and Pat Dotson on July 29. D.L Murley’s birthday was July 29, but he passed away June 1. He was 94 years old, just shy of 95. I am so sorry for your loss, John and family.
My devotion for this week is from “Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young - Proverbs 3:5; Isaiah 30:35…Rest in My Presence when you need refreshment. Resting is not necessarily idleness, as people often perceive it. When you relax in My company, you are demonstrating trust in Me. Trust is a rich word, laden with meaning and direction for your life. I want you to lean on, trust, and be confident in Me. When you lean on Me for support, I delight in your trusting confidence. Many people turn away from Me when they are exhausted. They associate Me with duty and diligence, so they try to hide from My Presence when they need a break from work. How this sadden Me! As I spoke through My prophet Isaiah: In returning to Me and resting in Me you shall be saved; in quietness and trust shall be strength.
I found this easy, low carb summer recipe. Pizza Bites: two large zucchini, one-half cup low carb pizza or tomato sauce, one teaspoon oregano, two cups mozzarella cheese, one-fourth cup parmesan cheese and pizza toppings of your choice, such as bacon, ham, spinach, peppers, etc. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Line a baking pan with foil and set aside. Slice zucchini one-fourth inch thick and arrange on prepared baking sheet. Top zucchini slices with pizza sauce, oregano, cheese and your toppings. Bake five minutes or until zucchini is tender. Broil five minutes or until cheese is bubbly and melted. Enjoy!
I hope you all have a great week. God bless! See you back here next week.
