Chester County Middle School entered the new school year with tremendous excitement and a forceful determination to have the best year yet. The middle school welcomed fourth and fifth graders of Chester County at the first of the month, and every adult in the building relished the opportunity to get to know each child and make sure they feel loved and respected at school.
Now that the first few weeks have come and gone, content difficulty and pacing are picking up, and all members of the CCMS family work ardently to help every child grow both academically and as members of this great county.
As adjustments are made to a new grade, please do not hesitate to reach out to teachers for guidance and advice on how to best help students at home.
CCMS recently was recognized by the state of Tennessee as a Reward School. This status is awarded to the top schools in the state that continuously show high marks in both achievement and growth on state assessments. Staff members do not take this acknowledgement lightly and have challenged themselves to go “back to back,” with high hopes of bringing the same recognition to CCMS in the years to come. Teachers in both grades know that this accomplishment would not have been possible without the remarkable support of a spectacular principal, most encouraging assistant principal, top-notch office staff, a caring nurse, an incredible school counselor, talented TAs, custodial staff, cafeteria staff, supportive families and, of course, the CCMS students. This success was a collaborative effort, and educators at CCMS count themselves blessed to be surrounded by such a powerful team.
The middle school recently kicked off the “AR Reading Olympics” with an “Opening Ceremonies” PEP Rally. At this event, it was announced that classes will compete in an attempt to read the most words in a month’s time. The top class will have an Olympic torch placed outside their door.
With September just around the corner, make sure your calendars are marked for the following events:
