CCJHS Students of the Week

Chester County Junior High “Students of the Week” for the week of Oct. 29-Nov. 2 include, from left: Abby Sells, Ben Lindsey and Brennan Rhodes.

Congratulations to our Students of the Week: Ben Lindsey, Abby Sells and Brennan Rhodes. These students were nominated by their teachers. For their reward, they are allowed to dress down, and they will receive a snack from one of our snack carts during break time. We are very proud of these young kiddos!

We congratulate Maggie Huckaby for being named our Lions Club Student of the Month! She and her family will be honored at the Lions Club Meeting next week. We are very proud of Maggie and her great example to her peers!

Our basketball team played Whiteville Monday and play at University School of Jackson on Thursday. Next week, they pay at home on Tuesday against Lexington and away at Hardin County on Thursday.

Students and staff were treated to a special viewing of the play “Annie” put on by Freed-Hardeman University’s theater department this week. This play had several of our Chester County Junior High School students in it! It was a great morning with great talent, and we are so grateful to have been invited to attend!

Our Veterans Day Program will be Friday, Nov. 9. A slide show of veterans will be shown at the event. We cordially invite all parents, grandparents and guardians to attend as our honored guests.

Auditions for “Sally Cotter and the Censored Stone” will be at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 13-14 in the Middle School Auditorium. Any student who is in the fourth-eighth grade can audition. Students do NOT have to be in the Drama Club to audition. Students only need to go to one of the auditions and must have an audition form with them at auditions. Audition forms can be picked up in the front office or downloaded from the Facebook event. The play will be held in February.

Yearbooks have gone on sale online! You may purchase yours during the pre-sale order time for $40. The link to do so is www.balfour.com. This is a great way to keep the memories alive for many years to come. If you have questions, contact Ally Rogers, Yearbook sponsor.

There was an informational meeting for all students interested in going on the eighth grade trip to St. Louis. Flyers were sent home as well. This is an exciting and extremely memorable trip for all that attend. The trip will be June 4-6, 2019. Payments will begin to be accepted on Monday, Dec. 3. If you have any questions, feel free to call Ally Rogers at 989-1948.

The Limeades for Learning program has begun. This is a program through Sonic that helps our teachers fund projects. Currently, there are nine projects at CCJHS that need funding. Just vote once a day for your favorite project!
