The 42nd Annual Chester County Barbeque Festival committee is now accepting vendor applications for Chester County residents and businesses only at this time. The dates of the festival are September 27 and 28. Please call 989-5222 to request an application. 

Flag Day Ceremony June 14

The Chester County Solid Waste & Recycling Department in conjunction with American Legion Post 157 and VFW Post 4844 both in Henderson will hold a brief ceremony on Flag Day, June 14, at 10 a.m. to dedicate a new Flag Disposal Box at the main county recycling facility on Talley Store Road. The public is invited to attend. All Chester County residents are encouraged to place their old flags in the new Flag Disposal Box. Lifeline Blood Drive June 17

Lifeline will hold a blood drive at Henderson Church of Christ from 3-7 p.m. Monday, June 17. All Donors will receive a t- shirt and may register to win a 2019 FORD FIESTA, donated by Joe Mahan Ford of Paris!

Party Meeting June 17

The next quarterly meeting of the Chester County Republican Party is scheduled for Monday, June 17, at 6:30 p.m. at Henderson City Hall upstairs, 121 Crook Avenue in Henderson. All Republicans and conservatives are invited to arrive early to mingle and listen to some good patriotic music. After a (brief) business meeting, the guest speaker will be our own TN state representative Kirk Haston who will speak on various Chester County and GOP issues. At the conclusion of those remarks, a door prize of a valuable solid-silver one-ounce 2019 Patriot coin will be awarded to one lucky attendee. CC Retired Teachers Meeting June 19

Chester County Retired Teachers will meet at noon on Wednesday, June 19, at Snookum’s. The sponsor is Peoples Bank, and the service project is food for CCBOE Family Resource Center (HOPE Project). Mike Barker will give an update on pensions and other retired teachers’ concerns.

CCHS Class of 1974 Reunion June 22

The Chester County High School Class of 1974 will have its 45-year reunion on Saturday, June 22, at the Chester County Middle School cafeteria. The reunion will begin with a time of reminiscing at noon and a barbecue lunch at 12:30 p.m. There will be a photo booth and awards presented. Classmates need to RSVP to Bob Moore by text at 608-2924 by June 10. The cost of $20 per person can be mailed to Bob Moore at 2435 Old Friendship Road, Finger, TN 38334. Classmates are asked to spread the word as no formal invitations are being sent.
