Last week Jehovah’s Witnesses in Chester County began an intensive, door-to-door, countywide campaign to invite the public to three conventions being held in Memphis next month. The events will take place at Memphis Cook Convention Center beginning Aug. 2.
The conventions have as their theme, “God’s Word Is Truth!”
“The convention theme this year is significant because it underscores a core family value for Jehovah’s Witnesses,” states J. R. Brown, spokesman for the Witnesses. “Witness families embrace the Bible as the most trustworthy guide and source of advice in these troubled times.  And we feel that the public will likewise benefit from and enjoy the varied and practical program.”
Features of the three-day conventions will include a public lecture entitled “What is Truth?” that will examine why the Bible can be trusted as God’s Word, two dramatic plays which will bring Bible stories and their lessons to life, and a mass baptism of new Witnesses.
The dates of the conventions are Aug. 2-4, Aug. 9-11 and Aug. 23-25. The public is invited, no admission will be charged and no collection will be taken.
