Chickasaw State Park recently named Ron Elder as Park Manager. Elder, who has served as a Ranger at Chickasaw for 10 years, took over his duties last fall, but he was officially recognized on Thursday, July 16.

Some local girls' softball fans were already asking the question: "Where is Moore County, N.C., the site of the Dixie Angels X-Play World Series?" Seemed fitting since their team was undefeated entering the state tournament championship round July 15 at Brownsville. However, the road maps were put away later that evening as Wayne County defeated Chester County twice to take away what surely seemed CC's invite to the World Series.
Earlier this month, Chester County Junior High School welcomed Kris Todd as principal. Todd joins the Chester County School System with 29 years of education experience and 17 years in administration. From 2006 until 2014, he served as principal at Milan High School, and he transferred to the central office last school year.

Chester County Commission met in regular session on Monday, July 20. Superintendent Troy Kilzer II and the Chester County School Board approached the commission to ask that the property behind the Chester County High School, which was formerly used by the Highway Department, to be allocated to the school system for use in future expansions.
The air is full of haze and dust kicked up from the hooves of running, massive wild-eyed beasts on four legs bursting out of an arena chute. The crowd holds their breath as much from the pungent barnyard smells of manure and sweat as they do at the sight of the cowboy perched atop a bucking, leaping violently twisting animal he could be thrown off of at any moment, either leaping to his feet with a square jawed grin or a look of teeth-gritting pain.

Whether you have relatives visiting from out of town last weekend or you enjoy sleeping in when we get an opportunity, it can be a hassle to wake up early and make breakfast. This tasty make-ahead breakfast casserole is a great solution to taking some of the worry out of breakfast.
Cooking is an important part of my week, but I often run out of time to make breakfast. If my husband doesn't feel like making breakfast and we're bored with cereal, breakfast rolls are a great alternative.
